Former dual UFC champion Daniel Cormier doesn’t find it surprising that Alexander Volkanovski, who was defeated by Islam Makhachev, remains at the top of the P4P UFC rankings.
“I said immediately after the fight: ‘There is a possibility that Volkanovski will remain the number one in the ranking of the best fighters, regardless of weight,'” the American said in the next issue of his analytical program on ESPN. “Because the pound-for-pound rating answers the question, ‘How will your fighting style perform in other weight classes?'”

Earlier, Cormier paid tribute to the Australian, but said that he considers the victory of the Russian to be fair, who successfully defended his lightweight title at UFC 284 in Perth, winning the fight with a score of 49-46 and 48-47 twice.
