The head of the UFC, Dana White, had an original reaction to the news that former UFC heavyweight titleholder, Francis Ngannou, whom he failed to keep in the organization, got another superfight and will share the ring with former world boxing champion Anthony Joshua.
While the media went on a tear about the fight between the Brit and the Cameroonian, the head of the world’s strongest league went live on social media and made a statement about the UFC 300 anniversary tournament, which will take place April 13 in Las Vegas.
“I’ll have more fights for you on Tuesday,” White promised his followers. “I’ll be back home on Sunday and I’ll be announcing more fights for the UFC 300 tournament on Tuesday.”
Note that the ten-round fight between Ngannou and Joshua will take place on March 9 in Riyadh, which means the bout will divert fans’ attention from the UFC 299 tournament, which the organization will hold that day in Miami.
The UFC is reportedly having trouble putting together a card for the anniversary event, which currently features only the three bouts previously announced by the league’s executive.
