Dana White reacts to Shara Bullet’s UFC debut

UFC head Dana White was pleased with Sharabutdin Magomedov’s debut fight in the world’s strongest league, but advises the Russian to tighten up his wrestling skills if he expects to succeed in the organization.

“He’s a dangerous guy, he’s tough – this is his first fight in the UFC, and I don’t know how he can be from Dagestan and not have protection from the kickdowns, but other than that, he looked amazing,” the organization executive said at a press conference following UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi. “I liked the guy.”

“I don’t know about if he’s the future of our sport, but he definitely has a future here if he works on his takedown defense. In the UFC, you have to have a full arsenal, be a versatile fighter. Obviously he’s got crazy kickboxing, amazing leg kicks, elbows, but he needs to tighten up his wrestling or he’s going to get beaten very quickly here”

Recall that the fight between Shara Bullet and Brazilian Bruno Silva, which opened the preliminary card of the numbered event, went the full distance and ended with a victory for the Russian, who took all the rounds despite attacking his opponent lying on his back for most of the second and third five minutes.
