The President of the UFC – on further handouts in lightweight
UFC President Dana White at a press conference after the UFC 257 tournament, he said that American fighters Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler would fight a lightweight title fight if Khabib Nurmagomedov did end his career.
“If Khabib leaves, Poirier and Chandler will fight for the title,” White said.
Note that Conor McGregor in a fight with Poirier for the first time in his career was knocked out. The first meeting of the fighters, held in the fall of 2014, ended with an early victory for Conor in the first round.
Michael Chandler knocked out Dan Hooker of New Zealand in the first round at UFC 257.
