Dana White has set a new deadline for Conor McGregor’s return

Former UFC champion in two weight classes, Conor McGregor, will return to the octagon in seven months at the earliest.

This was announced by the head of the UFC, Dana White, on the next edition of “The Pat McAfee Show”.

“We don’t have a date. Hopefully he’ll be back this year. I’m counting on the fall. We could do it in the fall,” said the head of the world’s strongest league.

On New Year’s Eve, Conor McGregor announced that his fight against Michael Chandler will take place on June 29 at International Fight Week in Las Vegas and will take place in the middleweight division. In addition, rumors have recently begun to circulate that the Irish fighter may take part in the UFC 300 anniversary tournament and become a participant in a title fight in the new 74.8 kg (165 lb) division.

Conor McGregor, 35, last stepped into the octagon in July 2021 after suffering a severe leg fracture in his third fight against Dustin Porier, and the Irishman’s last win came in January 2020, finishing Donald Cerrone by first-round technical knockout.
