Dana White has named the culprit in the Strickland and Du Plessis brawl

UFC CEO, Dana White, has placed the blame for the incident between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis, who brawled in the gym at UFC 296 in Las Vegas.

“What kind of asshole do you have to be to put Du Plessis behind Strickland? I’ll tell you – this jerk right here,” the head of the organization said at a press conference after the event, pointing to himself. “I do the seat assignments every week, so that stupidity was done by me.”

“I don’t know who should have been seated next to Strickland, but definitely not Du Plessis. I honestly don’t see how I missed it. But as I’ve said many times in cases like this – ladies and gentlemen, we’re in the fight business where these things happen on a regular basis”

According to video published online, after an altercation with the South African, the American fighter jumped over two rows of seats and threw several punches at his opponent before security stepped in and escorted the reigning UFC champion out of the gym.

As a reminder, the middleweight title fight between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis will be the main event of UFC 297, which takes place on January 20 in Toronto.
