Dana White has issued a response regarding the rematch between Strickland and Adesanya

UFC CEO Dana White responded to a question about whether or not Sean Strickland and Israel Adesanya will have an immediate rematch, or if the organization will wait for the result of the fight between Hamzat Chimaev and Paulo Costa to determine the next challenger for the UFC middleweight title.

“This fight just took place and we have several fights coming up in the next month or so – we’ll wait to see how they end and then we’ll decide what’s next,” the head of the world’s strongest league said at a press conference in Las Vegas. “We’ll see what happens with time, injuries, other factors, and we’ll organize the best fight possible.”

On Sept. 9 at UFC 293 in Sydney, Sean Strickland shocked the mixed martial arts world by sensationally defeating Israel Adesanya by unanimous decision to take the UFC middleweight championship belt from the Nigerian, while a fight between Hamzat Chimaev and Paulo Costa will take place on Oct. 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi.
