Earlier, Israel Adesanya posted a video of the team’s reaction to Wolkanowski’s loss, and fans noticed that Hooker was the only one sitting in the background laughing at that moment. Some even suggested that the New Zealander had bet money on Topuria’s win.
“In my opinion, Wolf is the best fighter to ever put the gloves on,” Hooker wrote on social media. “I believe he looked great and was starting to successfully execute his plan for the fight, but he got caught. I couldn’t believe my eyes and at that moment I thought, ‘What a dumb sport we’re playing’ and laughed to myself.”
Recall that the featherweight title fight between Volkanovski and Topuria, which headlined UFC 298 in Anaheim, ended in the second round with a knockout loss for the Australian.
