Dan Hooker dropped out of UFC 285

New Zealand lightweight Dan Hooker will not be able to take part in the UFC 285 tournament, in which he was supposed to meet American Dzhalyn Turner.

Informed sources close to the situation say that Hooker broke his arm in training, and at the moment the matchmakers of the organization are trying to find a replacement for him in order to keep Turner on the card.

Jalyn Turner, 27, is on an impressive five stoppage streak in the UFC, guillotining Hooker’s teammate Brad Riddell in his last fight just 45 seconds into the match.

Dan Hooker, 32, got his career back on track in a previous fight after two early losses in a row, winning by TKO in the second round against Claudio Puelles. Prior to that, the New Zealander lost Kimura to Islam Makhachev, and also made an unsuccessful outing to featherweight, losing by technical knockout to Arnold Allen.

Recall that the UFC 285 tournament will be held on March 4 in Las Vegas, and its main event will be a fight for the vacant heavyweight championship belt between Jon Jones and Cyril Gan.
