Dan Hooker awaits punishment for allegations against Islam Makhachev

Dan Hooker, who insultingly accused Islam Makhachev of violating anti-doping rules before the fight against Alexander Volkanovski, is waiting for punishment for his words, but does not regret what he said at all.

“UFC and USADA don’t care,” the New Zealander told The AllStar. “Why do you think I was the one who said that? Yes, because I don’t care. Do you think I did not know that my words would have consequences, and that I would be punished for this? Yeah, I just don’t care”

“Am I waiting for punishment from the UFC? Yes, I’m sure they will, one way or another. At a minimum, they will arrange difficult fights for me. The last ten of my opponents were very difficult, so let’s go! Want to give me hard fights? No problem. But I’m not going to silently watch as one and my teammates are deprived of a well-deserved title.

On February 11 at UFC 284 in Perth, Islam Makhachev successfully defended the UFC lightweight championship belt by defeating Alexander Volkanovski by unanimous decision, after which Dan Hooker publicly called the Russian a fraudster, accusing him of using banned saline drips. As a result, the Volkanovski team did not provide evidence, and the Australian Athletic Commission and the UFC officially stated that they had no claims against Makhachev.
