Cris Cyborg’s opponent in the PFL has been named

Despite the PFL league’s acquisition of the Bellator MMA brand, a highly anticipated bout between Cris Cyborg and Kayla Harrison is not in the immediate plans of the organizations owners.

According to PFL head Donna Davis, like the rest of the Bellator champions, the Brazilian will be a crossover participant and will next face her compatriot Larissa Pacheco, who won the PFL featherweight title the previous day by defeating Russian Marina Mokhnatkina in the final matchup of the season.

“It’s champion against champion – Larissa deserves it,” MMAJunkie quoted Davis as saying. “But will Chris fight Kayla in 2024? One hundred percent. That fight will happen. Chris will have two fights in 2024, Kayla will have two fights in 2024 – one of them will be them against each other. But Larissa deserves to fight Kris first. Kris is the Bellator champion. Larissa is the PFL champion. We need to see that fight first.”

This October, Cris Cyborg made her fifth successful Bellator title defense, finishing Kat Zingano by first-round technical knockout, and Kayla Harrison defeated Aspen Ladd by unanimous decision at the PFL Finale.
