Former interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covingon has shared his take on a potential challenger bout between Belal Muhammad and Gilbert Burns, who will face off on May 6 at UFC 288 in Newark.
“I’m not interested in this fight,” Chaos told InsideFighting. “First, they need to stop hanging around guys in prelims. Who cares about this fight anyway? Their fights are not for sale.”
Covington also confirmed that his next opponent will be current UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards.
“I don’t know when, will it be July or August, but Dana said that this is a hundred percent settled issue, and we will fight for the current title. Leon can’t hide from me, I’ll do it for America”
Edwards previously stated that he would like to defend his championship belt on October 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi.
