Costa promises to replace Chandler in his fight with McGregor

Former UFC middleweight title challenger, Paulo Costa, commented on the news that Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler will fight on June 29 in Las Vegas for the middleweight title.

“I will come out and replace Chandler,” the Brazilian wrote on social media. “Chandler at middleweight will look like a mini Iranian Hulk. Costa vs. McGregor at middleweight!”

The UFC’s No. 6 ranked middleweight, Paulo Costa, will have his next fight on Feb. 17 at UFC 298 in Anaheim against former division champion, Robert Whittaker.

The Brazilian, who hasn’t stepped into the octagon in nearly a year and a half, plans to make up for lost time this year and is set to return to action in two months at UFC 300 on April 13 in Las Vegas.

The bout between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler will be the main event of the annual numbered event, which the world’s strongest league traditionally concludes International Fight Week in Las Vegas with.
