Former double UFC champion, Conor McGregor, did not leave without attention the successful performance of veteran organization Matt Brown, who at the UFC on ABC 4 tournament in Charlotte dealt with Cort McGee ahead of schedule and repeated the organization’s record for the number of knockout wins.
“Matt Brown, at 42, now holds the most knockout wins in UFC history with 13. He and Black Beast Lewis hold the record. At the moment I have 8 knockouts in the UFC and I am 34 years old. I will beat this record,” the Irishman wrote on the social network.
“I will not give it to you without a fight,” the American wrote in response.
At the post-event press conference, UFC President Dana White evaded a direct answer to the question of when the fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler will take place as they wrap up filming for the next season of TUF.
“I don’t know,” the head of the organization said. “Obviously, the season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ is about to start, and while it’s on, we’ll be working hard to get this fight going.”
Given this rhetoric, and the fact that the Irishman has not yet returned to the USADA testing pool, there is increasing talk that McGregor’s return may not take place, and is nothing more than an attempt to revive a rapidly losing television project.
