Conor McGregor reacts to Sean O’Malley’s victory

Two days after Sean O’Malley knocked out Aljamain Sterling to become the new UFC flyweight champion, Conor McGregor commented on the American’s success, drawing parallels to his fight against Jose Aldo.

“Look at O’Malley repeating the same thing: ‘I’m going to be as great as Conor McGregor,'” the Irishman wrote on social media. “Then he goes out and does the same thing I did to make myself just like Conor.”

“Honestly, it’s just fucking insane. Did you see the ending? It was almost identical, in the main event. It’s crazy, big repartee. When you haven’t read the whole book, but you know a few pages by heart. There’s no denying that.”

As a reminder, the flyweight title fight headlining this past weekend’s UFC 292 event in Boston ended early in the second round after O’Malley caught Sterling with a right jab and then finished the shocked champion in the parterre.
