Conor McGregor has announced his next two fights in the UFC

Former UFC champion in two weight classes, Conor McGregor, is set to not only return to the octagon, but also have at least two fights before the end of the year.

The Irishman announced this on social media, answering a fan’s question about whether he plans to complete a trilogy with Nate Diaz.

“I want to fight Nate on Mexican Independence Day at Sphere. Chandler in June. Diaz in September. I’ve made that known,” McGregor replied.

Thus, Conor McGregor plans to face Michael Chandler on June 29 at UFC 303 and then complete a groundbreaking trilogy with Nate Diaz on September 14 at UFC 306 in Las Vegas.

Diaz, who is a free agent, previously indicated that he would like to return to the organization and make an appearance at the event, which will take place at the Sphere Arena on Mexican Independence Day.

Recall that Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor have met twice in the octagon – in March 2016, Diaz pulled off a huge upsets by taking the fight on short notice and finishing the Irishman by choke in the second round at UFC 196 in Las Vegas, and five months later, McGregor got his rematch by beating the American in a close fight by a majority of the judges’ votes.
