Conor McGregor gave his prediction for the Topuria vs. Holloway fight

Former UFC double champion, Conor McGregor, shared his opinion on a potential featherweight title fight between Elijah Topuria and Max Holloway.

“Ilia Topuria reminds me of Artem Lobov – he’s the same kind of small underdog,” MMAFighting quoted the Irishman as saying. “Holloway is too light on his feet and too fast for him. I think Holloway will pick him apart if they fight. Holloway was already a champion and he held the title for a long time and now he has the BMF belt.”

“In my opinion, Topuria is not a champion at all. He may have the belt, but it’s a meaningless belt since he’s holding it. I don’t see any appeal in him. Who is he anyway? Georgian? Spanish? I don’t even know where he’s from. I don’t see any hype associated with him. He needs to fight more. Topuria needs to keep fighting.”

A few days earlier, Elijah Topuria, who took the championship belt from Alexander Volkanovski in February this year, announced that he already knows the date of his next fight, which will headline the debut event of the world’s strongest league in Spain.

Recall that in April of this year Max Holloway made a successful foray into the lightweight division, knocking out Justin Gaethje at the last second of the fifth round and taking the BMF title away from the top lightweight.
