Former UFC double champion, Conor McGregor, continues to actively add to the list of fighters he plans to deal with once he resumes his professional career.
This time, the Irishman challenged current UFC featherweight titleholder Alexander Volkanovski, who is ranked as the organization’s second best fighter regardless of weight class.
“If you ask me, little weenie Wolkanowski is by no means P4P’s No. 1,” McGregor wrote on social media. “He’s a fast worker for me with 100 percent success rate. He’s readable, misses punches, takes damage. I love that he has that title, so at some point we’re going to have to fight so there won’t be a debate about who is the greatest welterweight ever.”
It didn’t take long for the Australian to respond.
“Let’s do it at UFC 300, Conor!” wrote Wolkanowski.
The UFC’s plan is for Conor McGregor to resume his career after more than two years off and face Michael Chandler by the end of this year, while Alex Wolkanowski successfully unified the current and interim UFC featherweight titles in July with an early win over Yair Rodriguez.
McGregor has previously promised to beat Michael Chandler, Justin Gaethje and Nate Diaz, and the day before expressed interest in a bout with Sean Strickland, who took the UFC middleweight championship belt from Israel Adesanya.
