Former UFC welterweight title challenger, Colby Covington, commented on the words of UFC executive, Dana White, who criticized his performance in his fight against Leon Edwards, saying that the American looked old and slow.
“I haven’t had a chance to talk to Dana White, but I’m in contact with Hunter Campbell, so they’re aware of what’s going on,” MMAnews quoted Covington as saying. “They are aware of my leg and are giving me as much help as they can.”
“They have the facts and they know I spent the whole fight with a broken leg. I like it when the boss criticizes me harshly and rudely because I want to work even harder and prove him wrong. But I respect Dana’s opinion. He does great things and he has changed my life. I can’t say anything bad about Dana.”
Earlier, Covington showed X-rays of his foot that confirmed his version of the leg fracture he allegedly suffered in the first minute of the opening round.
Recall that the welterweight title fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington, which headlined the UFC 296 event in Las Vegas on December 16, went the full distance and ended with a victory for the Briton by unanimous decision.
