Colby Covington: Masvidal pulls out of Leon due to broken ribs

UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington has revealed why Jorge Masvidal was pulled from his fight against Leon Edwards at UFC 269.

“I’ll give you an insider on why he pulled out of this fight,” Covington told Submission Radio. — At ATT, I still have guys who love me, so I always get the latest news from the inside. Well, the thing is, this frail guy, Street Judas, broke his ribs the Saturday before last while sparring. He left the room in tears. I went to the doctor, they took a picture, and it turned out that he had a broken rib. He says that I am fragile, but who is fragile and brittle is he, a fucking laughing stock. He has fragile ribs, do you remember who the King of Ribs is? It’s me. Ask Tyrone.”

On November 7, Covington lost to Usman by unanimous decision at UFC 268. Masvidal was knocked out by Usman at UFC 261 in April.
