Coach of Sean Strickland told about sparring with Khamzat Chimaev

Sean Strickland’s coach, Eric Nixick, doesn’t know what Hamzat Chimaev meant when he said he could easily finish off the UFC middleweight champion, hinting at training together at the Xtreme Couture gym.

“I don’t know what they saw in the gym, but it’s by no means true,” Sportskeeda quoted the American specialist as saying. “I’m not going to talk about our training sessions. What happens in the gym stays in the gym. But in any case, there was no such thing as someone destroying someone. If you ask me, it was just the opposite, but in any case very competitive”

“Yes, Hamzat trains very hard and I think he does better than anyone else around him. I’ve been impressed with his skill set, his ability to strike at all levels, and his ability to work from both stances. But that doesn’t mean he was head and shoulders above everyone else in the gym.”

A week ago, undefeated Khamzat Chimaev earned the status of official challenger for the UFC middleweight championship belt with a majority decision win over Kamaru Usman, while Sean Strickland sensationally defeated Israel Adesanya by unanimous decision early last month to take the title away from him.
