Charles Oliveira is happy to organize a fight with Arman Tsarukyan

Former UFC lightweight titleholder, Charles Oliveira, is not at all worried that his next opponent will be Arman Tsarukyan rather than the division’s current champion, Islam Makhachev.

This was reported by the Brazilian’s trainer, Diego Lima.

“I know a lot of people didn’t like the organization of this fight,” the Brazilian specialist wrote on social media. “I know everyone wanted to see Charles vs. Islam again, but not everything happens the way we want it to, and honestly we are very happy to have this fight.”

“There are a few points that are important to emphasize. Charles fought for the last time last June, Islam didn’t come back until the second half and we couldn’t go more than a year without fighting. ‘Arman is very tough!’, you say. When has Charles ever had any easy opponents? Go to his record page and look at the names of at least his last ten opponents’

“Charles has never given a slack, and he never will – that’s why he is who he is, the real deal, and that’s why you love him. His path has never been easy. After losing the belt to Islam, he came back and beat a potential title challenger by first-round knockout who was riding an eight-fight win streak”

Three days earlier, UFC head Dana White officially announced that the fight between Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan will take place April 13 at UFC 300 in Las Vegas, and the winner will challenge Islam Makhachev in the summer.
