Former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo believes Dustin Poirier will beat reigning UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira and hang up his gloves.
“I really believe Poirier will win,” Cejudo told The Schmo. I believe he will retire. Because when a fighter starts thinking about retirement, it means he should end his career. I feel that Dustin Poirier will win. I think he wants to leave at the top. I don’t think he wants to fight Justin Gaethje. I really don’t think so.
I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t retire. When a person talks about a pension, he can go for it. And I think that Dustin Poirier will end his career if he beats Oliveira. You first heard about it from me.”
Poirier and Oliveira will meet on the night of December 12 in Las Vegas in the main event of UFC 269.
