Casey O’Neill is out of action for 2023 due to a torn ACL during training. Jessica Eye now has an opponent in UFC 276.
The former UFC champion is expected to now face Maycee Barber at the July 2, card, which will anchor the annual International Fight Week celebrations.
Multiple people who were aware of the plans for the promotion confirmed that the information was received by MMA Fighting on Thursday. BJPenn.com initially reported the switch.
Just days after her dominant performance against Montana De La Rosa,
Barber accepted the fight. This was her second consecutive win. The 23-year-old flyweight looks to continue her momentum after she stormed on to the UFC scene following a contract won on Dana White’s Contender Series.
Meanwhile, Eye looks to get back in the win column after suffering three consecutive losses including a unanimous decision to Jennifer Maia in her previous outing.
Eye had been originally scheduled to make her return in March, but was forced out by injury. The Ohio native will now return in July against Barber.
