British super middleweight John Ryder (31-5, 17 KOs) has confirmed that negotiations for his fight against Mexican undisputed champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs) are in the final stages.
As previously reported, the fight should take place on May 6, and the venue is likely to be Guadalajara in Mexico.
John made it clear that he was not going to rejoice solely in the participation in the duel and would fight for the victory.
“As far as we know, our next fight will be against Alvarez, and we are working hard to finalize everything in the coming days,” says Ryder. “There have been many times when someone managed to shock the world, and I see no reason why this cannot happen again.”
“Still, Canelo didn’t look his best last year,” says the Brit. – He lost to Bivol, although he is an amazing fighter, and also beat the 40-year-old Golovkin. So, who knows where Canelo is in his career right now? I deserve the chance to fight him and take back what is mine.”
It is already known that Canelo Alvarez will have to cut his earnings – all because of the desire to fight at home.
