The head of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Suleiman, believes that the potential defeat of Saul Alvarez in the final fight of the trilogy against Gennady Golovkin will be the beginning of the end of the world boxing superstar.

On September 17, Canelo will make his third fight with GGG in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their first fight ended in a controversial draw not in favor of Golovkin, and in the second, he defeated Alvarez on points.

According to the president of the WBC, Saul took a big risk when in 2022 he decided to move up to the light heavyweight division (up to 79.4 kg) to meet unbeaten champion Dmitry Bivol there – and lost. This was his last fight.

Canelo – Golovkin 3. Surprise prediction from Ruiz

“And now he is risking everything against Golovkin,” said the head of the Council.

“Canelo was very upset by the defeat of Bivol,” said Suleiman
talkSPORT. “If he loses to Golovkin in September, I think it will be very difficult for his career to return to the current status.”

Here the American a-Charlo is already shouting: “Golovkin, fight me!”

Gennady himself believes that “a defeat from Bivol will bring Canelo back to reality.” In June, he spoke about the war in Ukraine; a set of words about nothing and for everything good.
