Undisputed super middleweight boxing champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will return to the ring on September 16, while the Mexican’s opponent will be undefeated American Jermall Charlo, who holds the WBC middleweight title.

About the organization of the fight reports the publication ESPN.

32-year-old Saul Alvarez successfully defended his title of absolute world boxing champion in the second middleweight in May of this year, defeating Briton John Ryder by unanimous decision. Last May, Canelo made an unsuccessful attempt to take the WBA light heavyweight championship belt from Russian Dmitry Bivol, losing a unanimous decision with a score of 115-113 three times, and in September, the Mexican boxer put his career back on track with a unanimous decision victory over Gennady Golovkin.

Jermall Charlo, 33, has not entered the ring since June 2021, when he successfully defended his championship belt for the fourth time, defeating Mexican Juan Macias Montiel by unanimous decision. In total, the American has 32 professional victories, 22 of which he won ahead of schedule.
