WBA Super title holder Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs) and Artur Beterbiev (18-0, 18 KOs), who owns the WBC / WBO / IBF titles, can fight for the title of absolute champion of the light heavyweight division both in the beginning of the year and and in 2024 – everything will depend on whether the rematch between Bivol and Canelo Alvarez takes place in the fall.

This was stated by Beterbiev’s promoter Bob Arum in London, where Arthur will hold a mandatory defense tomorrow against Briton Anthony Yarde.

“I think so,” Arum replied to the question of whether Bivol could become Beterbiev’s next opponent if he wins tomorrow’s match. But we need to be realistic. I think the first thing Bivol wants is a rematch with Canelo Alvarez, who is much more attractive to him from a financial point of view. So if this fight takes place, then Bivol and Beterbiev won’t fight before 2024. But if there is no Canelo fight, then maybe we can do a Beterbiev-Bivol fight this year.”

Meanwhile, Bivol spoke about Beterbiev’s weaknesses.
