Boxing expert, agent and consultant Rick Glaser claims that Ukrainian veteran Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) will not receive the previously promised fight for the title of undisputed lightweight champion in any case.

On October 16 in Melbourne (Australia), the owner of all belts of the division, American Devin Haney (28-0, 15 KOs), will meet in a rematch with local ex-champion George Kambosos Jr. (20-1, 10 KOs). The first fight took place here, ended with a convincing victory for the American.

“I was told that the undisputed world champion Haney, in the event of a second victory over Kambosos, is very likely to rise to the light welterweight,”
writes Glaser. – But even if he remains in lightweight, he will not give Lomachenko a fight. Even this version, which already has a very solid mileage and wear, and in February it will be 35 years old.”

Lomachenko will return to the ring also in October – he will hold a moderate intermediate fight with American Jemaine Ortiz. Earlier, promoter Bob Arum promised the Ukrainian in 2023 a fight for the title of absolute.

Last week, manager Egis Klimas said that Lomachenko is not looking for easy ways. He is sure that the Ukrainian will not be easy with Haney. But you need to take all the titles and fight “Tank” Davis.
