Brazilian heavyweight Augusto Sakai fired from UFC

Brazilian heavyweight Augusto Sakai is no longer a fighter in the strongest league in the world.

A month ago, the 31-year-old Brazilian in the last fight under the current contract with the UFC closed a series of four early defeats, defeating Dontal Mays by unanimous decision, however, the organization decided not to renew the agreement with him.

Augusto Sakai joined the UFC in 2018 after TKO’ing Marcos Conrado in a Dana White’s Contender Series qualifier and then four wins in a row against Chase Sherman, Andrey Orlovsky, Marcin Tybura and Blagoy Ivanov.

After two successful years in the UFC, the Brazilian began a black streak, and he lost ahead of schedule to Alistair Overeem, Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Ty Tuivase and Sergey Spivak.

Augusto Sakai enters the free agent market with sixteen wins, four losses, and one more fight ended in a draw.
