Bobby Green issued a statement after the defeat

After suffering a crushing defeat against his compatriot Jalin Turner, American lightweight Bobby Green issued a statement giving credit to his opponent for taking the fight on short notice, as well as sharing his future plans.

“Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose,” Green said in a video posted on social media. “I want to show people that you have to be a real gangster when you win and stay one when you lose.”

“Kudos to Jalyn – you did your thing bro. I’m so happy for you. The fact that you took the fight on short notice and were successful means a lot. To all my people, I want to tell you that this is just another step in my career, which has its ups and downs. I’m going to keep going and I’m not going anywhere.”

As a reminder, the fight between Bobby Green and Jalin Turner, which was the second main event of UFC on ESPN 52, ended at the 2:49 mark of the first round, with referee Kerry Hatley stopping the fight later than necessary for some reason, allowing Turner to land about ten extra punches to his opponent’s head and knock him unconscious.
