Popular boxing blogger Jake Paul refused the championship belt, which representatives of the World Boxing Association (WBA) tried to give him.
“For me, this is a great honor, and in fact it means a lot,” said the American. “However, I feel like I don’t deserve it. I feel like I have to fight for it. I don’t even know… Thank you, but I think you should keep him until I really fight for the WBA title. This belt is not mine yet, but I’m going to use it as motivation.”
The last time 25-year-old Jake Paul entered the ring in October this year, winning a unanimous decision against former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. The YouTuber also has two wins over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, whom he won via split decision before being knocked out in a rematch.
According to rumors, Jake Paul’s next opponent could be Nate Diaz, who recently left the UFC and became a free agent.
