If he wins in May, he may have to give revenge to another Mexican – Saul Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs), whom he upset this spring.

Bivol is reluctant to talk about a possible rematch with Canelo.
Explains his manager Vadim Kornilov: “First of all, we will insist on neutral judges. That was what worried me the most on the eve of their first fight. Dimitri doesn’t have to worry about that. It’s not his job, it’s ours. We didn’t go to that fight for the money. We wanted to earn something different there – recognition and respect. Therefore, it is important for us to be sure that if Bivol beats Canelo in a rematch, the judges will give him the victory. About the fee. It’s not the most important thing, but still. Now we are party A. And we demand the corresponding fee.

But about the upcoming fight, Bivol is ready to say: “I am confident in myself. I believe that he can do it for me. I will try to look even better than in the fight with Canelo. I respect Ramirez as a fighter. I know that he was the champion of the lower division. He has an impressive record of 44 wins and no losses. And this motivates me. I want to be first.”

Bivol claims he “didn’t watch the third fight between Canelo and Gennady Golovkin. Not that I deliberately ignored it. I just had a workout. And all my focus now is only on the upcoming fight. Other fights are only to my detriment now. You need to concentrate on the current task. Canelo win?.. Well, he’s younger than Golovkin. I do not want to talk about a possible revenge. To be honest, I prefer to move forward and fight for titles that I don’t have yet. It’s better than coming back to fight someone you’ve already beaten.”

Bivol’s compatriot Artur Beterbiev holds the rest of the division’s titles. He will face his mandatory challenger Briton Anthony Yarde early next year, and it has already been announced when the fight will take place.

Have you already heard that in November in Dubai, the winner of the Olympic Games 2020, the ex-champion and the son of a legend, will perform as the opening act for Bivol?
