The 90-year-old head of the Top Rank promotional company, Bob Arum, believes that the current WBC / WBO / IBF light heavyweight champion (up to 79.4 kg), representing Canada, Artur Beterbiev (18-0, 18 KOs) can end his career as the best fighter divisions in history.

“I think Beterbiev could be the best ever (light heavyweight),” says Arum. — I go back to such names as Bob Foster, John Conte, Matthew Saad Muhammad, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad. So I have never seen such a light heavyweight as he (Beterbiev).”

Recall that on June 19 in New York, Arthur won a unification fight against American Joe Smith Jr., who at that time owned the WBO title. It took Beterbiev less than two rounds to do everything about everything.

According to Arum, he was surprised by how the fight went:

“I didn’t think Smith would fight like this. Although everyone said that Beterbiev started slowly, so he came out and immediately started a fight. He thought this was his best chance, but you just can’t do that with a guy like Beterbiev who doesn’t hit you but throws atomic bombs at you.”

Artur himself, meanwhile, admitted that he would be interested in fighting Usyk in the professionals.
