Bellator MMA President Scott Coker commented on the success of his fighters, who defeated the representatives of the Japanese Rizin FF league with a clean sheet 5-0 at a joint New Year’s Eve event.
“I always said I wanted to win 5-0 and I’m glad my guys won, but it was a very competitive fight,” Cocker told a press conference after the Rizin 40 tournament. Souza fought McKee, there were a couple of moments where I was very excited for AJ”
“The main fight was a very nerve-wracking, head-to-head fight and I’m glad AJ did everything he could to win, but anything can happen in an MMA fight. It was an evening of exciting fights.”
“In all weight classes, we have three or four fighters who can compete not only in the UFC, but in any organization on the planet. Now we have a very strong roster.”
Recall that within the main card of the Rizin 40 tournament, five cross-battles took place, in which Bellator MMA fighters won by unanimous decisions. One of the most distinguished was the Russian lightweight Gadzhi Rabadanov, who defeated the Japanese Koji Takeda.
