Bellator President Scott Cocker responded to a question about what he thinks about the cross-fights with the ACA league, which the head of the Russian organization, Mairbek Khasiev, has long proposed.
“Yes, I know this league, but we never spoke with them,” Cocker said in an interview. Sport24. “Many leagues have offered us this after we had a joint tournament with Rizin. If it makes sense, let’s do it. I’m not afraid”
The Bellator League ended last year with a joint tournament with the Japanese league Rizin FF, in which the fighters of the American organization in Saitama defeated the hosts with a clean sheet 5-0, winning all cross-matches.
After that, the head of the ACA league, Mairbek Khasiev, turned to the presidents of Bellator and UFC with a proposal to hold a grand prix between the best fighters, which would show the real level of each promotion.
“It will be fair to separate the UFC and Bellator, and then, by drawing lots, distribute the ACA and the fourth participant in the semi-finals. We will be satisfied with any option in the starting meeting!” Khasiev said.
Recall that already this weekend the American League will hold the Bellator 290 tournament, in the main event of which the legendary Russian fighter Fedor Emelianenko will end his career with a fight against the reigning Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader.
