Belal Muhammad is set for his next fight in the UFC

The UFC’s No. 3 ranked welterweight division, Belal Muhammad, will have one more fight before fighting for the championship belt.

The announcement was made by UFC CEO Dana White at a press conference in Las Vegas.

“Belal Muhammad is scheduled to fight,” the organization’s chief stated. “We’ll be announcing it soon.”

Muhammad responded by hinting that he will make an appearance at UFC 296 on Dec. 16, headlined by a title fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington.

“I’m actually hoping Leon or Colby gets injured and that will be my fight,” the fighter wrote on social media.

Muhammad’s most likely opponent at the moment looks to be former division champion, top ranked Kamaru Usman.

Belal Muhammad, 35, has not lost in ten consecutive fights, most recently defeating Gilbert Burns by unanimous decision to round out the top five fighters in the division.

Kamaru Usman, 36, has suffered two consecutive losses in title fights against Leon Edwards, first losing to the Brit by knockout and then losing to the champion by majority decision.
