Batirov and Cejudo can hold a fight in freestyle wrestling

The Volnik professional wrestling league is negotiating a freestyle wrestling fight between ex-UFC champion Henry Cejudo and the famous Russian wrestler Mavlet Batirov. This was reported to SE by one of the leaders of the league, MMA fighter Ali Bagautinov.

“We don’t look at who will ask for how much money, we just want to make this fight,” said Bagautinov. – Whoever comes to Dagestan and says “give me money for the fight”, he will leave the fight! Now I am negotiating with Cejudo. He was waiting for replenishment in the family, he said that he would give an answer later. I haven’t touched it yet. Conditions have already been verbally agreed. We have already agreed with Mavlet. We will try to make such a fight in 2022.”

34-year-old Cejudo is an Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling in the weight category up to 55 kg. He spent 18 fights in MMA (16 wins, 2 losses), becoming the UFC champion in the flyweight and bantamweight divisions. 37-year-old Batirov is a two-time Olympic champion (2004 – up to 55 kg, 2008 – up to 60 kg), world champion 2007 (up to 60 kg).
