The current WBC, IBF and WBO light heavyweight boxing champion, Russian Artur Beterbiev, successfully defended his titles in the confrontation with Briton Anthony Yarde, winning an early victory at Wembley Arena in London.
The beginning of the fight was left for Beterbiev, however, by the middle of the match, Yard managed to equalize the fight, and in the eighth round, inspired by success, the challenger was knocked down, having missed two blows from the right.
After the referee resumed the meeting, the Russian rushed to the attack, delivered several blows to the Briton, who obviously did not have time to recover, as a result of which the Yard corner decided to stop the fight.
Thus, 38-year-old Artur Beterbiev scored his nineteenth professional victory, remaining undefeated, and 31-year-old Anthony Yard interrupted a series of three early victories.
