Arman Tsarukyan unscheduled rise in the UFC rankings

Despite the fact that the top representatives of the UFC lightweight category did not enter the octagon last weekend, Russian fighter Arman Tsarukyan improved his position in the official ranking of the organization, moving from ninth to eighth in the top 15 division.

The updated rating is published on the official website of the organization.

The Russian traded places with Rafael dos Anjos, who competed in the welterweight division last month, finishing with a second-round submission to Brian Barberena. The Brazilian held his last fight in the lightweight category in July last year, losing by knockout in the fifth round to Rafael Fiziev.

Arman Tsarukyan, 26, got his career back on track in December after losing to Mateusz Gamrot with a unanimous decision win over Damir Ismagulov.

Last week, Akhalkalaki expressed interest in a duel against former division champion Charles Oliveira, who said he was looking for an opponent for March or April.
