Arman Tsarukyan, who knocked out Benil Dariush in 64 seconds in the main event of UFC on ESPN 52, commented on the brutal defeat of Bobby Green, with whom he had a run-in prior to the event.
“He was saying all kinds of d****o things about me, and I just went up to him and said, ‘Bro, don’t say that, because where I’m from, you can’t just talk – you gotta be accountable for your words. If you continue, we’ll have to meet and discuss this,'” the Russian told a post-tournament press conference. “After that, he pushed me, I pushed him, and that was the end of it. I hope I never see him again in my life. I was super happy when his head was being driven into the canvas.”
The fight between Bobby Green and Jalin Turner, which was the second most important event of the tournament, ended at the 2:49 mark of the first round with Green losing by knockout, with referee Kerry Hatley for some reason not rushing to stop the fight, allowing Turner to land about a dozen extra punches to his opponent’s head and knock him out before passing out.
The head of the UFC, Dana White, stated after the event that it was one of the worst stoppages he had seen in his life.
