The ninth number in the UFC lightweight rating, Arman Tsarukyan, gave a prediction for the superfight between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski, who will headline the UFC 284 tournament in Perth, Australia on February 12.
“I like it – it will be a great fight,” the Russian said in an interview with The Schmo. “This fight will show whether Islam is the best in his game or not, because Volkanovski is the number one P4P rated and for Islam he will be the most difficult opponent. I gave him the toughest fight in the UFC so far. I still believe Islam will beat Alex, but this fight won’t be as easy for him as it was with Oliveira.”
Arman Tsarukyan will face Damir Ismagulov this weekend, and he believes that he will win this fight and return to the Candidates race.
“I think Benil Dariush will fight Oliveira and beat him and fight Islam and then I will come and beat all these guys. Now I have a fight with a very serious opponent, but I know that I’m better – I’m well prepared and I’m looking forward to it. It’s my dream to beat all these guys and get a title shot, especially with Islam Makhachev. My first fight with Islam was very close, it was my debut, short notice and I know my time will come soon. I’m still young and my time to shine will soon come.”
Recall that the fight between Arman Tsarukyan and Damir Ismagulov will be the second most important event of the UFC Fight Night 216 tournament, which will be held on December 17 in Las Vegas.
