Former contender for the world light heavyweight title (up to 79.4 kg) Briton Anthony Yarde (22-2, 21 KOs) is looking forward to the unification fight for the WBC / WBO / IBF titles between Artur Beterbiev (17-0, 17 KOs) and Joe Smith (28-3, 22 KOs), which is scheduled for June 18 in New York (USA).

Recall that earlier the British promoter Frank Warren said that the winner of the Beterbiev-Smith fight would have to fight against Yarde, who in August 2019 was close to taking the WBO belt from Sergey Kovalev, but was still knocked out at 11- m round.

“I will watch the fight (Beterbiev-Smith) closely and try to destroy the winner,” says Yard. – Now I feel much better (than before the fight with Kovalev), because I have already been in this position, but now I have gained more experience. The pressure is always there, but now I have the feeling that I know what to do.”

In 2022, Anthony did not enter the ring yet, and during 2021 he scored two early victories, knocking out Alex Teran (KO 1) and Lyndon Arthur (KO 4) in a rematch.
