Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Smith agrees with the judge who gave the Polish fighter the win in a split decision draw between Magomed Ankalavev and Jan Blachowicz.
“I believe that Blachowicz beat Ankalaev,” the American said in the next edition of the MMA Hour program. “We decided the first three rounds. Blachowicz took the second and third, Ankalaev confidently took the fourth and fifth, but I didn’t see 10-8 in the final five minutes. And I think Jan won the opening round, so I ended up 3-2 to Blachowicz.”
Note that Anthony Smith did not meet in the octagon with Jan Blachowicz, but in the previous fight he lost ahead of schedule to Magomed Ankalaev, losing to the Russian by technical knockout in the second round.
