Anthony Pettis defeated Ben Henderson for the third time

Thirteen years after their first fight, former UFC lightweight champions Anthony Pettis and Benson Henderson completed the trilogy, this time fighting under karate rules at Karate Combat 43 in Las Vegas.

Five rounds of the match failed to produce a winner, resulting in a sixth round, at the end of which “Showtime” picked up the win by unanimous decision.

After the fight, Anthony Pettis challenged the show’s commentator, George St. Pierre, to which the legendary Canadian responded with a polite refusal.

On December 16, 2010, Anthony Pettis took the WEC lightweight championship belt from Benson Henderson, winning by unanimous decision and authoring the most famous punch in mixed martial arts called the “showtime kick”, and three years later he defeated his compatriot again, finishing him with an elbow leverage in a UFC title fight.
