Former world heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr. (34-2, 22 KOs) is confident that his former training room partner Eddie Reynoso, American lightweight Ryan Garcia (22-0, 18 KOs) will still surprise us on the good side and shines with all facets of talent as the level of opposition increases.
Recall that already on July 17, Ryan will meet with Dominican Javier Fortuna (37-3-1, 26 KOs). Perhaps it will shine even then.
“I think once Ryan Garcia comes up against strong opponents, his talent will show up a lot more, because Ryan is so damn good,” Ruiz says in an interview with
FightHype.
At the same time, the departure of top coach Eddie Reynoso from the gym will not affect Garcia for the worse, Andy is sure:
Ryan doesn’t need anyone. He has his own small team and, most importantly, he has talent.”
Recently, Garcia fell out with ex-idol Canelo Alvarez. Ruiz chose not to get involved and generally admits that he will still return under the wing of Reynoso:
“I know about the differences between Ryan and Canelo, I heard their mutual insults … I will not comment on this, I have my own way, and I prefer not to spread about others. I can only say that Reynoso’s gym is cool. I do not exclude that I will return there. I love them all”.
Ruiz himself is preparing for a duel scheduled for September 4 against hardened Cuban veteran Luis Ortiz (33-2, 28 KOs). If you want to see Andy’s powerful tattoo, he bared his butt especially for you: video 18+.
