Andrei Koreshkov will headline the PFL tournament

Already in his debut fight under the PFL banner, Russian fighter Andrey Koreshkov will step into the cage as the headliner of the event.

League officials officially announced that the fight between “Spartan” and his compatriot Magomed Umalatov, which is the opening bout of the welterweight grand prix, will be the main event of the PFL tournament, which will take place April 19 in Chicago.

Andrei Koreshkov, 33, is riding a five-fight win streak, the most recent of which came last July at the Bellator and Rizin co-main event in Saitama, winning by split decision over Lorenz Larkin.

The undefeated 31-year-old Magomed Umalatov has reached the semifinals of the PFL Grand Prix two seasons in a row, but has been eliminated both times – in 2022, the Russian dropped out of a semifinal match due to British visa issues, and last year he withdrew from a fight against his compatriot Magomed Magomedkerimov for unknown reasons. The Russian fighter has a total of five wins in the organization, knocking out three of his opponents.
