Mexican ex-leader of P4P Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) after losing to Dmitry Bivol should return to the second middleweight (up to 76.2 kg), where he is still the absolute champion, and hold a third fight against Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs), abandoning the idea of an immediate revenge with Bivol.

This point of view is shared by the former world light heavyweight champion Canadian Jean Pascal.

“The best option for him is to have a third fight with Golovkin, because I think he will beat him and even stop him. Their first fight was close and I think Canelo won. In the second fight, Canelo won more easily.”

At the same time, Pascal advises Alvarez to stay away from David Benavidez: “If Canelo returns at 76.2 kg, such a fight will be very difficult for him, because I know this guy (Benavidez). If I were him, I would try not to cross paths with Benavidez.”

According to Jean, if Canelo decides to stay at light heavyweight, only one option can be acceptable for him: “If Joe Smith beats Artur Beterbiev (June 18), it might make sense for him to try to go after Joe.”

Pascal also said that he foresaw Bivol’s victory, but fell for the hype.
