WBO world middleweight champion (up to 72.6 kg) American Demetrius Andred (31-0, 19 KOs) claims that he was not surprised by the defeat of Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) from Dmitry Bivol (20 -0, 11 KOs), despite the fact that Bivol, by his own definition, is a “classic and simple boxer.”

Apparently, Andred has held a grudge against Alvarez ever since Alvarez called him a “terrible fighter”, thus motivating the lack of interest in fighting him.

“He (Alvarez) called me a terrible fighter, and in the meantime he lost to a classic boxer,” Demetrius does not hide his joy. – I’m not surprised at all, by the way. People were running around like crazy due to his move to light heavyweight, but it was the norm when he sidestepped me to fight (Sergey) Kovalev, who was exhausted, injured and all that shit. And now he was just beaten by a simple fighter with a basic set of skills.

It was previously announced that Andred is obliged to fight Almkhanuly or remain without a title – WBO decision
