Aljamain Sterling reveals number of fights before retirement

The current UFC bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling, plans to fight four more fights, after which he will end his professional career as a fighter.

“I will destroy Henry Cejudo, I will destroy Sean O’Malley and then move up to featherweight. I’ll fight Alex Volkanovski or Yair Rodriguez, maybe I’ll have one title defense, and that’s it,” the American said in an interview with ESPN.

Recall that Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo will headline the UFC 288 tournament in Newark on May 6, and the featherweight unification fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez will take place on July 8 at UFC 290 in Las Vegas.

As for Sean O’Malley, he is second in the UFC bantamweight division, and will likely fight Sterling if he defends the title, however, if Cejudo wins, teammate Merab Dvalishvili, who is in first position, may get a title chance in the ranking.
